With education playing such a pivotal role within TONI&GUY’s DNA, lauded mentor Dennis Langford was keen to support the GenNext Gala. “Exhibiting our show at the GenNext Gala in front of thousands of industry professionals and inspiring up and coming hairdressing was marvelous. We wanted to display our commitment to the future of the Australian hairdressing industry and give the audience a taste of the TONI&GUY scope of talent from editorial and consumer centric hair to Avant-Garde. It was great to be able to engage our International Artistic Team and illustrate what we do best to a national audience.” enthused Dennis Langford, Managing Director of TONI&GUY Australia.

The national and international teams collaborated to deliver a 20 minute show, with 24 models, which showcased the Socialized collection, Editorial collections inspired by the latest trends on the catwalk and finally an award winning Avant-Garde presentation. The show commenced with an editorial presentation headed by TONI&GUY International Artistic Director Bill Watson, with 8 models showcasing the hottest trends from the runways around the world. Following this the TONI&GUY Socialized collection took to the stage with a twist, as a male model came alive moving to the beat of the music serving up smooth eclectic moves which blurred the lines of hip hop and contemporary dance raising the roof as the audience roared for more.

As the models left the stage a layer of fog seeped out across the catwalk while the audience saw the magnificent opening of the Avant-Garde presentation, directed by International Artistic Director and proud recipient of ‘Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year’, AIPP for ‘Avant Garde Collection’ and the ‘Grand Trophy’, Indira Schauwecker, whose ability to mould the fabric of hair with different textures into a series of breathtaking sculptures was simply exquisite.
