The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the leading community-funded organization in Australia raising money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer.
In 2016 NBCF has committed over $12 million to fund more than 30 research projects that will contribute towards our goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
Deciding to Make a Difference
Kelly Wright, TONI&GUY Bondi Beach Salon Owner, and mother of two, launched ‘Deciding to make a Difference’ which entails plans to raise $1million.
The money will be used to fund new housing for the Jilkminggan aboriginal community in the Northern Territory. Kelly has created the program in partnership with the Jilkminggan community to help transform the third world conditions in which they currently live. The goal of the program is to use this as a model to improve poor quality housing in Aboriginal communities across Australia.
Kelly has teamed up with Nev House, specialists in disaster recovery housing, to build an Australian first – sustainable, cyclone grade housing built from recycled marine plastics. The housing will be designed by internationally acclaimed architects, Hassell.
