TONI&GUY 2008 COLLECTION – KIAZEN
Kaizen is all about ‘originality’, time traveling back to the early 80’s – with bold colours and strong silhouettes that embody humour and fun. Moving away from celebrity inspired looks; this is an embracement of – ‘the individual’.

The cut is inspired by early 1900’s fashion, hair that was ‘stacked out’ at the sides and at the front. Fusing this with the late ‘70s and taking direct inspiration from Poison Ivy of the iconic band ‘The Cramps’.
The colour is inspired by Sonia Rykiel and the beauty of naturally red hair, enhanced with shades of salmon, gold and copper. Creating a fresh, fruity tone.
|
The cut is inspired by the 'This is England' movie an 80's inspired street culture movie that depicts suburban street style with a real 'suede head' influence. Removing the 'rough edges' to create a modern, glamorous interpretation.
The colour is inspired by the fluidity of the haircut's shape. Colour choice was a deep peach-tangerine that enhanced the movement of the hair.
|
The cut is inspired by the iconic “Purdy’ and the 60’s model Peggy Moffit meets Glynis Barber from 80’s TV series Dempsey & Makepeace. Offset and asymmetric, bob-length hair wearing a perfectly placed, tipped, beret hat.
The colour is inspired by the iridescence of sea shells and their reflective, swirling patterns of colour. Antique blondes and sherbet pinks create a pearlessence to enhance and embellish.

REBEL URCHIN |
The cut is inspired by the ‘Wig Movement’ seen in key fashion and catwalk shows. The freedom of expression that wigs give – geometric, blunt outlines and graphic shapes with a reflective, high shine finish.
The colour is Nu Rave and Futurism Fashion! Dysfunctional, Robust colour is created using Felt Lavender, Chesterfield Mauve, Dusty Grape, with erratic sections giving a turbulent finish.
|
The cut is inhspired by wiggy textures and playmobile, lego-character block shapes.
The colour is inspired by Andy Warhol’s screen printing, creating a layering of colour that creates unsurpassable vibrancy, with a miss-match of edges and a strong but rebellious attitude. |
The cut is inspired by street-styled, fashion-savvy women. With a nod to 60’s inspired, shorter, technical graduations and graphic shapes that scream individuality and strength.
The colour is inspired by ‘performing artists’. Using the idea of dancers and movement, with a heavy emphasis on versatility. |

SOOCAT |

The cut is inspired by the punk rebellion against commercial fashion and the Cubism art movement coupled with the recent use of wigs in fashion, reflects a different image of shape and perspective to create a multifaceted cut.
The inspiration for the colour was the ‘Y2K collection – Nomad’, representing strength of outline and powerful colour with a glossy texture.
|

The cut is inspired by the concept of simple and strength. Moving away from softer, over directed shapes to create a bold, more obvious form.
This colour is inspired by this season’s shimmering fabrics. Trying to move away from metallics into opaque, semi transparent, frosted tones sourced from icicles and mountain peaks. |

The cut is inspired by the anti-fashion urban-youth, street culture. A backlash against the fashion obsessed.
The colour is inspired by futurism. Seeking reference from designers Stella McCartney and Gareth Pugh's collection and their use of fabrics such as studs, plastics and metallics with tones of Graphite and Concrete creating a synthetic finish |
